Super Spinach

Spinach is an edible flowering plant and is considered a super healthy vegetable! It’s a very versatile veggie and can be eaten raw or cooked. I love adding a handful into my morning smoothies, making a nutritious salad full of these dark green leaves, or putting some onto a lunch wrap.

There is an array of different ways to incorporate more of this super food into your diet.

Would you believe me if I told you that spinach actually has protein in it?! Super cool, huh? (1 cup = 0.86 g of protein)
As a lady, healthy hair, skin and nails are very important to me! Luckily, vegetables like spinach and kale contain Iron, Vitamin A and Vitamin C, all of which are necessary for the growth of tissue and the production of collagen. (1 cup = 0.81 g of iron)
Magnesium is a vital dietary need. It maintains muscle and nerve function, your heart rhythm, blood pressure and keeps a healthy immune system. Luckily, spinach has us covered!
Spinach has MORE potassium than bananas folks! One cup of banana has about 539 milligrams of potassium, spinach has 839 milligrams! Potassium helps to balance and control digestive and muscular function.
There’s a funny saying that says, “Do your squats, eat your spinach, wear red lipstick and don’t let boys be mean to you.”
I think that is wise advice! 😉
